The Car is a 68 Mustang I rescued it in 1995. I restored the car pretty much on my own, except for the final body work and paint. The restoration was finished in 1998 and drove the car on the street for ten years. The car was in Mustangs and Fords magazine in 2002. I showed the car quite often and won over sixty awards. The car was also in a TV commercial, was in the opening shots of the TV series My Classic Car, when they did the dedication to Kahoonaville in Wilmington De.
I started racing the car in 2010 first race was Pinks All Out at Maplegrove. After that I raced the 422 Allstar series nostalgia super stocks. I finished in the top ten six times in eight years.
The car was again in Modified Mustangs and Fords magazine in 2013.
The engine is a 428 FE using a Bullet roller cam, Edelbrock manifold and heads all of which have been modified. Has a Quick Fuel 850 cfm carburetor. The cast iron block was decked, line bored, cross bolted. Using a Scat crank, Mahley rods, Diamond pistons. It has a modified Ford C4 transmission, Hartman aluminum drive shaft, and a Ford nine inch rear using Mark Williams axles spool etc. Wilwood brakes are on all four corners, along with Hoosier front tires and slicks on the rear.
I originally installed the eight point roll bar during restoration and as the car started to get close to the nine second mark Bob at Ed Quay made it into a ten point roll cage. The car has gone as fast as 10.12 seconds at 131 mph. More work during the off season should make it pickup some more getting into that nine second range.
