Sometimes you just gotta have the best of everything. When it comes to flow, you just can't get anything better than our Race Pro Muffler. This baby features a 'straight through' path that guarantees throughput that's 95% of straight tubing! The sound is surprisingly tame considering the absence of any impedance when you look down its barrel. At idle and low rpm cruising, you will not draw much attention, but upon acceleration, bystanders lookout! The Race Pros aggressive sound is the result of applying a layer of stainless mesh around a unique internal 3.5" louvered tube, accompanied by a healthy stuffing of basault insulation before the unit is sealed. Highly recommended for the track where every 1/10th counts. This 4" round version is also great for many street rod applications. Think of these mufflers as large inhalers for your engine. The welded case makes for a sturdy muffler that will not rattle. The stainless construction of our mufflers enables them to resist corrosion and extends the lifespan of the product, while their superior flow improves gas mileage. Pypes mufflers, when used as a Pypes system component, can be precision matched to deliver the ultimate in sound and performance.

Product ownership: A year or longer

Purchased from: Pypes Performance Exhaust

Several years ago (6-7 now), I had a stock TBSS. LS2, auto, 4.10s, AWD, 2006 1LT model. It was a ton of fun but I wanted louder. I had a local shop install the M-80 that I bought from this site. They also removed the resonator and welded on the stock tip. The infamous Youtube video is still out there and has been one of the most popular exhaust clip videos for this vehicle since I posted it.

The sound at idle was tough. It was deep, very deep. Deep especially for an LS-powered vehicle. At part throttle, it came alive. At WOT, it woke the dead. It was the best mod I did to it before the vehicle was totally rebuilt.

After a forged bottom end, cam, headers, etc, the M-80 was just too much. I had a cutout before the M-80 and it made zero difference in noise. There are videos of that, too. The tone changed but volume stayed the same, haha! I ended up finding the biggest, quietest muffler I could find that would fit. The M-80 is still alive and well and going into a 70's K10 pickup.

The Pypes Exhaust logo on the building at Maple Grove always intrigued me. I listened to muscle car exhaust clips with the Violators and fell in love. Now all my toys have the complete systems.
