Bit deeper than I hoped for but I just put them on and I am getting used to them. They do sound "Glass Pack 60's"

Sounds Great, install not easy

Installed the SFM81MSB axleback system on my 2017 Mustang GT PP about a week ago. The driver's side went on first and was done and perfect in around 20-minutes. The passenger side installation, however, was not the same. It took more than three hours, including trimming the PB's pipe and adjusting the PB hanger rod to get the tip centered in the valence.

The cuts to remove the OEM mufflers were easy with a cordless sawzall. As I stated, we did the driver's side first, and that seemed simple. Used a hand file to clean up the edges. When we got to the passenger side, we had to cut the OEM pipe a second time to try to get the angle of the pipe and tip further outboard. With that and cutting about a 1/4-inch off the PB pipe, it still wasn't even close [approximately 3/4-inch off], and the tip touched the inboard side and top of the valence. The hanger rod required bending, and I was afraid to pull too hard on it [with a pipe] as it is very stiff steel and I could tell that would damage the weld to the PB. We used a torch on the outer bend and that took three test fits [including cooling between heating with a water sprayer] as it had to be bent out and upward on an odd angle. After that, the clamp wasn't adequate to hold the position perfectly, so we put a spot weld on the pipe connection to keep the tip centered to match the driver's side.

I am VERY fortunate to have access to a master mechanic [Many thanks to Frontino Racing] with a fully appointed garage, including a tig welder and oxy-acyt torch, or this would have been an even more difficult install. I have had the same system, in stainless, on my 05 Mustang GT for several years, and I love the sound.

I happened to purchase from LMR after speaking with Pypes - I would have purchased directly if the price was the same.

Very Satisfied
