2005 V6 Mustang 2.5" Cat-back System Picture Gallery
This is Steve Zimmernam's 2005 V6 Mustang. He wanted a Pypes SFM65 ‘True Dual’ system installed.
The single factory 2.25” over-the-axle pipe has been replaced with two mandrel bent 2.5” pipes.
Instead of one of the Pypes Performance Mufflers we have available, Steve chose Ford GT stock mufflers to accompany his new Pypes System. They are readily available on ebay for around $30/pair and are a inexpensive alternative to aftermarket axleback kits.
The Pypes system includes the 2 extra muffler hangers needed for the 2nd muffler.
The factory Y pipe is cut in these two places and the Pypes X pipe slides right over and clamps in place.
We created some cutouts in the bumper for the polished tips to fit into. We have a template for this cutout included in our instructions for everyone doing a self-install.
Here is how the final product looks.
You can see the 'True Dual' system does not effect the ground clearance.
Before we sent this V6 home with Steve, we had the time to take a sound video of our Pypes 'True Dual' system with the GT mufflers.
